Thenr.net and subsidiary sites boast nearly 500 unique views and 3GB of bandwidth thus far in 2010.

This is one site that's making it happen. I'd like to showcase the musical works of NCThompson. Proudly hosted here at thenr.net and also at myspace: link.

Also, stay tuned, I'm looking to publish a paper here that I recently wrote on the topic of prostitution.

I Return, Happy New Years

Thenr.net holds a lot of memories for me. You, loyal reader, probably knew I'd never let it go for too long. I'm back, hoping to publish regularly once again. In fact, I've even started work again on Kenya Story IV. I got a lot done on my flight to California. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the kenya story: www.thenr.net/kenyastory. The Kenya Story is a serious piece of literature, conceived with my best friend in middle school. It's very realistic, and I think it holds a lot of relevance in today's society. The themes portrayed in the five-part drama are poignant and enlightening. I hope you get a few laughs out of reading them, and manage to overlook the numerous typographical and grammatical errors.

Anyway, I'd like to share with you a little thenr history. A long time ago, I was a confused boy fascinated with the worldwide web. I had played around with html, and made several sites on freewebs. I used url cloakers ".net.tf" domains to be exact, and I had even launched several unsuccessful forums at forumer.com (looks like that place is still around). I was hungry for my space on the web, but I didn't feel like paying, cause I wasn't actually sure how anything worked. So, I joined hostbidder.com, now overrun by spammers. The deal was, you post and get points, which you can use to buy domains. And it was no scam. I registered thenr.net, and got 3 good years of free domain. However, hosting was a different story. Hosting, being much more expensive than a domain, was harder to find for free. I had joined several forums that promised free hosting in return for traffic and posts, but these kinds of deals were often unreliable. The hosting usually ended up being shoddy, with limited bandwidth and bad uptimes. Eventually, I settled on paid hosting, through bluehost.com, but in the meantime, I had moved thenr.net several times between hosts, until finally arriving at where it is now.

Thenr has been through a lot, and I've learned so much. It'll be the 4 year anniversary this summer. I like doodling and writing silly stories; maybe I'll share the better ones here.

Thanks for reading and happy new years.

Ted Stevens Wins Alaska!

Although it pains me to relive Palin's loss, one good thing did come out of Alaska this election. Ted Stevens, convicted felon and incumbent, won his reelection campaign for Senate!

Recall, during a 2006 debate regarding net neutrality, Stevens referred to the internet as "a series of tubes." His infamous analogy has since then become the victim of propaganda on youtube, ytmnd, and even wikipedia.

It's good to know that 51% of Alaskans can see through the phony felony charges. We will appeal and the truth shall be revealed!

With that, I'd like to conclude Thenr.net's 2008 election coverage.
