Well, August has come to and end, and along with it so has the contest is! Tt seems the thirst for knowledge tops the convenience of being listed first. The red pill has officially won the "Red Pill vs. Blue Pill" contest.Don't get me wrong, the thirst for knowledge wasn't too overpowering. The final score was 118 - 110. At least, when I recorded it, which was about 30 seconds ago.
Anyway, I'd like to thank all of those who participated. It seems emily has won yet ANOTHER contest. I'll brew up something else in due time.
On another note, I have some interest Motubu's Mansion statistics to share with you all. (thanks to those who played)
If you were wondering who was the most accused of the suspects, I've collected some interesting data. Here is the list of the suspects in order of most accused, with the number of times their page has been visited in parantheses.
This may or may not be a spoiler, depending on how you look at it. So, if you haven't played Motubu's Mansion yet, I recommend not reading on and playing it! Go check it out here.
Well, here we go:
Julia (18)
Butler (9)
Doctor (8)
John (8)
Evan (7)
Mrs. Motubu (7)
So just to summarize, red pill won by a hair and you should play motubu's mansion. And thanks for supporting thenr.
Just in case I don't get another chance: hope you had a happy August, and have an even better September!

Well, as some of you know, the US Open began yesterday (yay!). For those that watch tennis, I guess you're all happy, and for those that don't, you're probably wondering what the heck I'm talking about.Well, anyway, this is Agassi's last US Open until he retires, and he's definitely my favorite player, so I'm just going to take a few minutes to mention the good sport. A legend he truly is, and last night he won his first round match against Pavel! Yay, for Agassi!
He triumphed in a four set match (6-7, 7-6, 7-6, 6-2). It was a really close one, three sets went into tiebreak, and, unfortunately, I don't have USA (the channel) so I watched the match huddled up against the computer screen pressing refresh every five seconds for the live score. It was fantastic!
The poor lad, Agassi, however, is facing the 6th in the world ranked Baghdadis next round, and hopes of winning that one against the young, energetic player out of Cyprus. I guess if Agassi gets eliminated it's back to rooting for Federer - sorry, I can't root for Nadal, he dresses too much like a punk for my liking.
Anyway, if you would like to take the time and drop a comment about the open, or your favorite player, don't be shy! Comments are what keeps thenr alive.
Happy US Open(ing)!

THENR.NET PRESENTS: MOTUBU'S MANSION!Yes, the wait is over. After hours upon hours of tedious scripting and planning, I have finally finished Motubu's Mansion. It will be thenr.net's very first game.
Motubu's Mansion is a text-based whodunit, written in HTML. Where you are the detective that must find who stole Motubu's golden cashew. The game was created using 40 different pages, as you snoop through the house, interrogate suspects and victims, and look up character biographies.
Hope you have fun, it's a tough game, if you guess the criminal right on the first try, please leave a comment, I'll be fairly impressed.
Anyway, after you've taken a look at the game please leave any comments, suggestions, or ideas about the game.
Again, you can play Motubu's Mansion here: www.thenr.net/motubu - Links can also be found on the right hand side under the Links section, and under the "Games" block.

No worries, I haven't forgotten about this place. I've been awfully busy lately, but that doesn't mean there's not enough time to come up with new things.Currently I'm scripting thenr.net's first game! Yes, the game will be in HTML, ol' school and primitive, but I'll do my best. It will be text-based with little to no graphics.
So, what kind of game?
Well only your favorite kind. A "whodunit" in HTML! Yes. The name of the game will be "Motubu's Mansion," where a very valuable antique has just been stolen during a dinner party. It's your job to snoop around the house and figure out who the robber is!
Now, give me a few days to finish this baby up. Whodunnits are harder than you think! Especially when you're trying to make them hard.
Any ideas? Comment!

Well, the contest continues, the winning pill will be decided on August 31st, late at night. Whichever page has the most views will win! Currently, it seems the red pill has come back and is now in the lead. To help out with your pill popper crusading, I've created some simple link back banners that will take those who click on them to your pill page.
HTML Code:
<a href="http://www.thenr.net/bluepill.html"><img src="http://www.thenr.net/images/bluepill.jpg"></a>
HTML Code:
<a href="http://www.thenr.net/redpill.html"><img src="http://www.thenr.net/images/redpill.jpg"></a>Remember, these would do very well on myspaces or if you've got your own website, then it would work fine there, too.
May the best pill win.

Yes, thenr.net finally has an original favicon! A favicon is a small 16x16 .ico image that shows up in the url bar in most browsers. I know it works with mozilla for certain and I think later versions of IE and opera. When you save bookmarks, the favicon is the little icon next to the bookmarked site.Well, thenr.net finally has its own favicon! I just finished making it, and thought I should let you all know.
But don't let this get you carried away from the contest. Leave a comment on the below entry and pick which page you think will have the most visits in the end. And also leave a comment on what you think about the new favicon here!

Sorry it's been a while since my last entry, but I've been brewing up something big, and now since it's the ides of August, and you know what that means - ASCII TIME! Followed by the new contest I've been brewing.Yes, that's right.
Now on this month's animation I may have gotten a bit carried away, but I recently saw the meatrix (yet again, I almost forgot that cartoon existed) and well I knew I had to recreate something about it.
Here it goes:
"Matrix Style"
With that said it's time for our NEWEST CONTEST:
This baby will have a matrix theme, as for the recent ASCII animation. I have created two pages the blue pill page and the red pill page, you have the choice of taking either one, and if you want to cheat, then you can take both. Anyway, I'm taking orders now of which page (the blue pill or the red pill) will get more visits. Each page has a unique visit counter installed on it so you can check the stats for yourself. So leave a comment with your guess in it - blue pill or red pill, which will get more visitors?
With that said, are you going to take:
the blue pill - and stay in this false world of golden cashews and victorious irishmen
OR
the red pill - and see the horrible truth
... one pill, two pill, red pill, blue pill ...
