It's time for the quote of the month... on the last day of July. This week has been busy.
"If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter"
-Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)
Hope you have a good August!

Friday, July 20, 2007, 00:55 - General, Announcements
As most of you know, I am one of the co-founders, and, therefore, one of two members of the band, RAS-berry. After a bit of just writing songs, we've finally equipped ourselves and have begun recording!A tentative release date for our first, full-length completed track is August 8th, and look for our demo album to be finalized and released sometime late in August or very early September.
For more updates and information about RAS-berry please visit the RAS-berry homepage, which can also be accessed via the link to the right labeled 'RAS-berry'.
Hope you're summer is going well, and stay tuned for the quote of month.
PS sorry about missing the July Animation, I was out of town.

Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 12:00 - Monthly Quote
This month I've decided to shake things up a bit. Instead of posting a quote, it's going to be a poem instead. I couldn't pick a specific line out of it as my favorite, so we're gonna see the whole thing. This is a favorite of mine:
"The Jabberwocky"
Lewis Carroll [Charles Dodgson] (1832-1898)
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Hope summer has treated you well thus far.
Also, please join with me in celebration of thenr.net's 374th day running (the first post was June 18, 2007)!

It's the fifteenth, and hopefully that's the Ides of June! If not, it is now. This month's ASCII Animation will be featuring the newest addition to the thenr.net family: the ultimate, thenr.net, time-keeping machine!

Thanks to our friends at Rolex for providing us with such a fine mechanism. Good luck on exams, and hope June treats you well.

Tuesday, June 5, 2007, 20:29 - Top Five
It's the fifth, of the sixth month! This means two things: top five AND thenr.net is almost ONE YEAR OLD. And in website years that's like 7 years, right? This top five will probably be the most controversial yet.
Top Five Movies:
Saving Private Ryan
Monsters Inc.
Blood Diamond
The Thin Red Line
Pan's Labyrinth
Now, keep in mind, there have been a lot of movies I haven't seen, and this list doesn't include 'classics', because, frankly, they're boring. I've rated these movies using an extremely complex algorithm, factoring in both movie entertainment [represented by the symbol: Me] and movie literary value [represented by the symbol: mLe].
Got beef? Comment!

Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 20:30 - Monthly Quote
May's almost done, but before we move into June it's time for the quote of the month! This one's from our favorite physicist:
"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."
-Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
In other news, Fedora 7 is coming out TOMORROW! I'm pretty sure you're not nearly as excited as I.
Hope May has treated you well.
