Lately, I realized how cool ASCII Art is! No, I'm not asian, in the social sense of the word. I found this great site called asciimator.net - don't worry it's not match for thenr.Anyway, I've decided that on the ides of every month I shall publish my very own ASCII animation. For July it's going to be a tad late. I gave ASCII Art it's own category, so if you go under categories on the right hand side and click on "ASCII Art Gallery" you can see all the animation articles I've entered.
Anyway, here goes the animation for the month of July of 2006. I call it go, birdy go:
"Go, Birdy Go!"
Yeah, a bit unoriginal, because it comes from asciimator's banner, but it was so cool, I had to have one!
Look out for my next animation coming out the ides of August (August 13th)!

thenr.net has moved again! Yes, sorry, lads, but I had to. My old webhost was just too slow. Everything's worked out and the move is totally complete. You'll find the site to be a lot faster now, and the uptime should be a bit better. All in all, things are looking up now, the new server we're hosted on is top notch.
Thanks for sticking with me this whole time!

Yes, it's true, ladies and gentlemen the Golden Cashew Contest is OVER.Just recently one of thenr's most dedicated fans, Emily, found the golden cashew page! Exciting, isn't it?
Well anyway, she has won herself countless hours of internet glory, and a spot on thenr's wall of fame. A newly designed concept to honor the men and women who visit thenr and participate in the exhilarating contests.
Also, on a totally unrelated note, I fixed all errors in commenting and administrative work that I do. YAY for no more errors!
So make sure to check the golden cashew page, the wall of fame, and the errorless site... (no guarantees).

Isn't it a shame...Israel continues to storms Lebanon with the claimed objective of finish the Hezbolla, another terrorist group, or so it would seem. The Hezbollah has been recently charged with kidnapping two IDF soldiers, but it seems that Israel is beyond that.
Israeli forces have continuously bombed civilian targets, like Beirut Airport, an international airport that has experienced a number of bombings. Yes, bombings - as in plural, with an 's'.
In times like these it really makes you wonder. What objectives to the Hezbollah have by kidnapping IDF soldiers? What else did they expect besides an invasion by Israel? When you kidnap a country's soldiers, there aren't many options; especially in a situation like this.
As the death toll rises, a totally preventable outbreak carries on. Middle Eastern fighting has almost become background noise, like the turned on television that nobody's watching anymore. Or at least, for American youth.
If only humans all around the world used their supreme sense of reason, rather than crude human nature and emotions, perhaps then all of this could have been prevented.
I'm not putting anyone to blame. Both sides have made mistakes and continue making mistakes - that's the problem. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this whole ordeal is absurd.
While militant groups thirst for revenge, in the end is anybody really satisfied?
...It is a shame
- Just a quick type up I had to do after a little reflection. I'm interested to see what others think, I hope I'm not the only one that sees all this as totally absurd. -

Nope, I'm not gone, in fact I just got back!thenr.net has been successfully moved, now the domain works all the time! New webhost boasts 99.9%+ uptime, but sometimes that uptime can be rather slow. Hey, at least the domain works for everyone now!
Anyway, during the flight some contents of the overhead bin were slighty shifted... in other words, while moving sites, some files don't seem to be working quite right. There is a commenting error, I've been working fruitlessly trying to fix the problem, I think the only way to fix it is to do some major file replacements, but nevermind that.
But apart from all that my friend and I also successfully finished a harry potter roleplay site http://morsmorde.thenr.net, it's part of the thenr.net family now, so if you're a fan of that kinda stuff I suggest you check it out, and if you don't know what that is but you like harry potter, then check it out anyway.
I'm still not over the Zidane headbutt, and I still can't find out what the Italian fellow REALLY said to him... anyone know? If you do please do me a favor and leave a comment with the information, I'm dying to find out!
Furthermore, don't you all forget that the Kenya Story: Unsung Heroes, has been released quite a while ago, so please have a read, and if you like leave a comment (and make me happy). Also, please don't forget the Golden Cashew Contest is still going on. Yes, I know this baby was a bit hard than I thought! But don't worry I believe in you, you can find the link, I know you can.
On a totally unrelated note, I found the coolest video on youtube:
World Cup 2002 Compilation
If you like soccer, then you'll love this baby. It's a video of World Cup 2002 (yeah, I'm still not over the fact that I have to wait until 2010 for another world cup) and the video's just runs footage of a ton of goals, it goes on for 10 minutes, imagine how many goals you can fit, and plus, it's got really cool background music and it includes the different commentators different languages, too. By the way, you can watch Ireland score then just zoom ahead to 5:26 (three Irish goals in a row, it's pretty sweet) and if you want to see my favorite player score, Klose!!, then just zoom ahead to 5:21 and watch Klose on an amazing header. And while you're at youtube, you can go ahead and check me out, I just got an account there, name's "navr91." Leave me a message there and tell me you got there through thenr.net (now THAT would make my day)
Anyway, this update was crucial, and don't y'all forget this place is still in business!

World Cup 2006 came to an end yesterday, as the Italians triumphed in penalty kick shootouts 5:4 over the French. Our poor French lad, number 20, was the only one to miss a penalty kick; his unlucky shot drifted off the crossbar.Zidane, the French team captain and all-star player, however, let down his team. With only nine minutes left to go in the last overtime, he let out a head butt and awkward push unto the provoking Italian. He let down his whole team and was quickly ejected from the match. The French then went on to lose.
Throughout the match it seemed as though our escargo fans were on top of things, at least they were stat wise, and one can't help but wonder what the game would have been like if Zidane, the penalty kick master, had kept his cool and played out his career. He was the only one to score for France; however, his career ended most prematurely and undesirably.
Anyway, congrats to the Italians on winning their fourth world cup, it's too bad it's all over.
Just four more years of anticipation until World Cup 2010.

Germany vs. Portugal was today's third place match for World Cup 2006. The Germans came out on top bruising the Portuguese 3:0.This is the first time the Porgtuguese have come this far since the 60's when they won third place in the world cup.
The Germans on the other hand were heavily favorite today. A proud finish for the host team, as the games have brought the country together as one after the split during the Cold War. Today's victory was significant not only for the players but all German citizens alike.
Now it's looking on to the upcoming finals match, France vs. Italy. The Germans will look for a spot in the finals in Euro Cup 2008.
As for the World Cup 2006 finals, it's too close for me to call, but I would like a French victory.
World Cup 2006. Almost a finish.
