In no apparent order:

Lindsay Lohan in an SNL Harry Potter skit, link
Derrick Comedy's Girl's Aren't to be Trusted, link
Derrick Comedy's Memory Loss, link
Lego rendition of Eddie Izzard's Death Star Canteen bit, link

Thursday, July 5, 2007, 23:52 - Top Five
Hope everyone enjoyed Independence Day and caught a nice fireworks show! As for now, it's time for the top five of the month. Well we return to the musical theme again, and this month's victim will be Blink-182.

Top Five Blink-182 Songs:
Stockholm Syndrome
Adam's Song
All of This
I'm Lost Without You
Dysentery Gary

Keep in mind it's tough to just choose five.

Good luck in July!

June '07 Top Five
Tuesday, June 5, 2007, 20:29 - Top Five
It's the fifth, of the sixth month! This means two things: top five AND thenr.net is almost ONE YEAR OLD. And in website years that's like 7 years, right?
This top five will probably be the most controversial yet.

Top Five Movies:
Saving Private Ryan
Monsters Inc.
Blood Diamond
The Thin Red Line
Pan's Labyrinth

Now, keep in mind, there have been a lot of movies I haven't seen, and this list doesn't include 'classics', because, frankly, they're boring. I've rated these movies using an extremely complex algorithm, factoring in both movie entertainment [represented by the symbol: Me] and movie literary value [represented by the symbol: mLe].

Got beef? Comment!

Top Five - May 2007
Saturday, May 5, 2007, 15:25 - Top Five
It's been a while, I know, lots of work has been bogging me down. At least I had time to get KS III out and of course post another great picture of a kitty kat.

It's the fifth of the May today, so that means two things: Happy Cinco de Mayo, and Top Five! This month's top five shall be showcasing the top five video games. Now, I know that's hard to do, so I will be excluding a lot of games, which you might believe deserve a spot on the top five, given that there are so many games. The following list is in no particular order.

Top Five Video Games
Super Smash Bros. (N64 Version)
FIFA (the year doesn't matter)
Mario Tennis (N64 Version)
Mario Kart (N64 Version)
Call of Duty (whatever version makes you happy)

It's hard to argue with that list, but if you think you want to give it a shot then leave a comment!

March - Top Five
Monday, March 5, 2007, 20:12 - News/Politics, Top Five
This month's top five is a little more scholarly and in fact is no longer opinion. Hope you learn something interesting from today's depressing yet true top five deadliest battles - and these ARE in order.

Top Five Deadliest Battles

Battle of Stalingrad (1942-3) - WWII Eastern Front - 1,530,000+ killed or wounded
Siege of Leningrad (1941-44) - WWII Eastern Front - 1,500,000 killed
Siege of Betar (135) - Bar Kokhba's revolt - 500,000 casualties
Warsaw Uprising (1944) - WWII Eastern Front - 250,000+ killed
Battle of Berlin (1945) - WWII Eastern Front - 230,000+ killed

SOURCE: wikipedia.org

You can see a WWII Eastern Front pattern, and then of course the usual 100 AD revolt here and there.

I've been extremely busy lately so there has been a halt on the third Kenya Story, but don't worry, there's less than one chapter left!

Enjoy March.

February - Top Five
Monday, February 5, 2007, 22:18 - General, Top Five
Yep, it's that time of the month again - top five, of course! Hope February has been treating you well; this month's top five will be a little more literature-based. Here are the top-five Agatha Christie books, which I have ranked in no apparent order:

The A.B.C. Murders
And Then There Were None
The Big Four
The Mysterious Affair at Styles
Cards on the Table

Think I've missed a good one? Leave a comment!

Also, I'd like us not to forget our honorary mention of the month, although not an Agatha Christie book this has to be one of my favorite mystery novels of all time: The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler.

Thanks for stopping by!

Top Five - Engrish
Tuesday, December 5, 2006, 21:47 - Jokes/Humor, Top Five
Alright, now I hate to steer the bandwidth away from thenr.net, but when one finds a great site you just have to do them honor, that is, if you follow the webmaster's code.

So here it is, December's top five will be the TOP FIVE ENGRISHES. Now, you're probably wondering what an engrish is, right?
But of course, I've got the answer. An engrish are translations from, an Oriental language, usually Japanese, to English, found here and there in society that nosy tourists take pictures of and submit. You still probably have no idea what I'm talking about, but you'll understand soon enough, hopefully.

Here's the month's TOP FIVE ENGRISH.

(now this one's a little tough to see at first, but if you've searched for a while and given up, here's a clue: check out where it says "bubble gum"

Thanks for stopping by for thenr.net's top five, and of course special thanks to engrish.com for the good work. Your support keeps us going. Of course stay in tune for December's major updates, including Kenya Story III on New Years, Motubu II, and other such goodies.

Have a good December!
